We reserve the option to change finished products. Craft your own earth friendly candles. Participants will craft 7 candles, 1 x 8 oz pillar candle, 1 x 4 oz glass container, 3 tealight candles and 2 tart candles. We incorporate wood wicks for an exceptional and unique crackling burning sound in some projects. Supplies included non lead cotton wick, wood wicks essential oils, soy wax and stearic acid to make the candle burn longer, harden the candle and offer a pastel finish to colours. We also use recycled material for a makeshift pilar mold.
Beeswax is a renewable all natural product with no additives or fillers. It is safe enough to eat, use in cosmetics, and is most recognizable as a clean burning & bright fuel source in beeswax candles. Unlike most of the manufactured paraffin candles, beeswax is hypo-allergenic, great for people with allergies or other sensitivities and for those of us who want a safe, clean burning candle in our homes. Soy has become the healthier alternative! In recent years, soy and vegetable wax has been culminated and implemented in candle development. Soy wax components are completely non-toxic. Soy candles last 50% longer than candles made of petroleum-based paraffin, the ingredient found in most candles. They also burn slower and cooler (helping to better distribute fragrance), are non-toxic, less likely to trigger allergies, clean up with soap and water, and produce very little soot. These factors tend to make them more animal and child-friendly than traditional candles. soy wax is also a favourite of environmentally conscious consumers.
