SCI (Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate) is a commonly used anionic, sulfate-free surfactant loved by syndet makers for it’s mildness and creamy lather. However, due to its poor water solubility, it can be replaced with SCMI in liquid products. Adding chelator helps clarity.
Sodium cocoyl methyl isethionate (SCMI) is bubbly foamy surfactant that lends great lather. It’s an anionic (negatively charged), ester based, solid surfactant in flake form.
AKA: Pureact, SCMI 85, Iselix SCMI. It is gentle to mild, and offers thick, dense, creamy, luxurious foam.
