We bring in only Bergapten Free which does not cause photo toxicity. The “FCF” in our Bergamot FCF Essential Oil means that it is furocoumarin free. Once the extraction process is complete, distilleries heat up the Bergamot essential oil to destroy the furocoumarins, which removes the photo toxins. This means that it is safe to apply topically and wear out in the sun.
