D-Limonene is a terpene found in citrus fruits, which comes from distilling the rinds. It is thin and clear with a dry citrus scent.
Natural D-Limonene optimizes eco-friendly cleaning with pure citrus terpenes, enhancing fragrance and efficacy in household and industrial formulas. As a naturally occurring solvent, it helps cut grease.
However, it is associated with contact dermatitis due to enhancing the penetration of other ingredients. It can be used to enhance citrus essential oils in wash-off products such as soap at very low percentages (1-2%).
Please note: This product may be sourced from a food (citrus peels), however, it has been concentrated and is not safe for ingestion.
Recommended Usage: This Oil is very versatile, being safer to use and more effective than most commercial and industrial cleaners. At 5 - 15% of the total product, it may be blended with surfactants for industrial-strength cleaners or solubilized and added to water and vinegar bases for effective natural disinfectant surface cleaners for use in the home. It may also be used at full strength as a biodegradable solvent, without the negative impact that synthetic chemical solvents have on the user or the environment.
Note: Not for therapeutic use, this is mostly used in green cleaning products and in making cosmetics such as fragrances.
