Balms and oils are gentle yet effective cleansing solutions that work wonders in removing dirt, makeup, and other pore-clogging impurities from your skin.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Setting Time: 12 hours

Total Time: 12 hours 20 minutes

Equipment:  Double Boiler, scale, heat-protective containers small spatula & whisk

Materials

Instructions

  1. Prepare a double boiler water bath by bringing water to a slow simmer over medium-low heat. Melt wax and butter. Stir occasionally until the ingredients have fully melted.
  2. When it begins to solidify, and you notice a trace forming on top - slowly add the avocado oil while whisking. (make sure they are room temperature and not cold)
  3.  When the mixture takes on a jellylike texture, add the German Chamomile and the Vit. E and stir to combine.
  4. Quickly pour the mixture into your glass jars.  Cover with lid loosely until mixture solidifies.  Label and include formulation date.
  5. Allow it to solidify for 12 hours.  Once the balm is fully solid, it is ready to use.  Store at a temperature between 790 and 70 degrees f for best results.
We have not added a broad spectrum preservative as there is no water in the formulation.

How to use

With clean, dry hands, scoop out a small amount of balm and warm between your fingers until it begins to melt. Apply to your dry face, and begin to gently massage in circular motions all over your face.  Massage for between 30 seconds to two minutes.

If you have eye makeup on, lightly massage the eye area until the makeup starts to dissolve. Wet a clean soft cloth with warm water and wring out the excess. Drape over your face and leave for a moment for the steam to open your pores.  Use the cloth to wipe away the balm in gentle sweeping motions. If you’ve been wearing makeup, you may need to resoak and repeat this step.

If you’ve been wearing SPF or makeup, or if your skin is prone to oiliness and breakouts, remember to double cleanse.  Rinse your face with cold water to close your pores.

If using a toner, apply and moisturize.
