Murumuru butter has some particularly notable benefits for hair and skin surpassing what shea butter offers. It has a very light nutty scent.
One of the most significant differences between the two kinds of butter is their origins. Shea butter is a fat that comes from the nut of the African shea tree, while murumuru butter comes from the seeds that grow on the murumuru palm tree in the Amazonian rainforest of Brazil.
Common Uses: Though solid at room temperature, it will melt on contact with the skin. It is used in formulations that help the skin recover its natural moisture content. This butter has lower recommended values for use in formulations.
INCI: Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter
Country of Origin: Brazil
Soluble in alcohol and oils. Insoluble in water.
Recommended Usage:
• Lotions & Creams: .5 - 8 %
• Balms: .5 – 100 %
• Bar Soaps: .5 - 2 %
• Hair Conditioners: .5 – 8 %
When adding butter to creams and lotions, it might be necessary to gently warm them until the texture can be incorporated into the final product. Using a hand blender, create a vortex with your cream or lotion and drizzle your melted butter to fully incorporate. In addition, in soaps, the general rule of thumb is 1 tablespoon per pound (15 g / 500 g). As with most raw materials, results may vary, so we strongly recommend small, lab-scale batches prior to any commercial manufacturing.
Shelf Life: Store in cool temperatures (below 25 °C) away from light and moisture in an air-tight container. The product will become liquid above ambient temperatures (e.g., 36 °C), but will re-solidify upon cooling without affecting functionality. This butter has a shelf-life of one year when stored proper.

I bought murumuru butter from here and another store at the same time.
This murumuru smelled nutty.
At first I wasn't sure about the smell, but compared to the other store's butter, I like this much better. I've come to like the smell.
When it goes on, it doesn't leave a greasy feel. It's quite expensive, but it's nice to have options. This is a good one.
This butter is an absolute hidden gem. Love adding a small amount to body butters and even add a smidge in my lip balm recipe. Highly recommend it even as an expensive item. Special thank you to Soap and More for offering such an extensive inventory of exotic butters and carrier oils.
It’s great thanks
Murumuru Butter Virgin
Beautiful and smells lovely.
Could you make a kit or recomend a recipe without baking soda! The glycerine based ones don't seem to wrk and I've only found 1 company that does it right called attitude. Anyway would be a market for it for sure✔✔
This is my third purchase of these jars. They are perfect for lip balms and luminizers.
Got here in no time , filled ready for market week after I placed the order.
This is a must have ingredient in some of my water-based formulations. Thx for having it available!
This scent is truly exceptional. Its dreamy quality makes it a joy to use, and when I added it to a lotion base, the result was fantastic. One of the best things about this scent is that it's very potent, so only a small amount is needed to achieve a nice, strong fragrance.
