Oat Extract Beta is obtained by the fermentation of oat extract in the presence of Lactobacillus. Oats contain high concentrations of β-Glucans. Oat Extract Beta is standardized for beta-glucan content from 1.5 to 2.5%.
This product's molecular weight ranges between 200k and 500k Daltons. Oat Extract Beta is a water-soluble ingredient that is perfect for use in a variety of skin care applications to provide conditioning and anti-aging benefits. Please note, when formulating, it is recommended to maintain a pH range between 4 and 7 at a temperature below 70° Celsius.
Why it Crystallizes: Precipitation or crystallization is a known, characteristic behavior of oat beta-glucan solutions, particularly at cooler temperatures.
Storage Recommendations: It is best stored at room temperature (typically 16–32°C or 23–25°C) to avoid accelerating this precipitation.
How to Reverse Crystallization: As your supplier noted, thorough mixing will dissolve the crystals. You can gently warm the container (e.g., in a warm water bath to roughly 45-50°C) to help the crystals dissolve faster.
Efficacy: The presence of crystals does not affect the efficacy of the product. They can be filtered out if necessary.
This product is perfect for the skin!
Could you make a kit or recomend a recipe without baking soda! The glycerine based ones don't seem to wrk and I've only found 1 company that does it right called attitude. Anyway would be a market for it for sure✔✔
Excellent little pail
Wonderful, it's my first time hearing about such oils. But they've done wonders in my wash off and leave in conditioners
Talk about staying power in co soap! Beautiful product
I have been creating formulas for the Retail market for 29 years now and often need materials for my benchtop needs and it is nice to have them in Calgary. I also source ingredients for the Batch mixes and recently Soap and More has become very competitive in the larger pack sizes 25 Kg +. They always have the proper documentation and when I go in the staff is always friendly.
