Sodium Alginate Powder

Sodium Alginate Powder is used in shampoo formulations as a bubble stabilizer and thickener as well as peel off masks and jelly bomb powder, it is an emulsifier or thickener that creates a gel like substance, much like jello.

Usage Rate: 0.2% - 5%

Physical Form: Off-White, free-flowing, light-weight, water dispersible food grade powder.

Solubility: Soluble in Water/Not soluble in Oils

Viscosity: 75-200 cp (1%)

pH: 6 - 8

How to use:  Sprinkle slowly into your water while using your stick blender, otherwise the mixture will clump up and may take days to combine.

Sodium Alginate is a food grade natural, plant based water-soluble polysaccharide that produces a gel consistency when hydrated and imparts an excellent skin feel.  Sodium Alginate has been used in the medical field, in the food industry, and more recently in cosmetics as a skin care ingredient.

Unlike gelatin, Sodium Alginate is soluble in both hot and cold water

It helps create items such as shower bombs, jelly bombs, face masks and more.

Sodium Alginate will help to soften, hydrate, and soothe skin and leave it feeling silky and soft. To create a skin care serum or hair gel using water, infusions, distillates, water-soluble extracts, etc., add Sodium Alginate and allow to hydrate for 30-60 minutes.

Alginate is an anionic polysaccharide extracted from brown seaweed.
