Leucidal® SF MAX is the latest iteration of Leucidal® line. Optimizing the fermentation process to tighten the specification for bacteriocins, Leucidal® SF MAX provides broad spectrum antimicrobial results with an increased degree of confidence.  

Use with Propanediol 1,3 for added protection against yeast and mold. 

Leucidal Liquid SF MAX is Salicylate Free.  It is also GMO Free and no ethoxylation, irradiation, sulphonation, hydrogenation, or ethylene oxide is used in processing.  The solvent used for extraction is simply water. There are no additional preservatives or antioxidants.

Leucidal® Liquid SF MAX is a probiotic-based ingredient created by the fermentation of Lactobacillus in a defined growth medium. Leucidal® SF MAX provides broad spectrum antimicrobial protection. Leucidal® SF Max can be used in a wide range of cosmetic products, however to ensure optimum results it is recommended that it is incorporated into formulations at a pH between 3 and 8, during the cooling phase of the process at temperatures no higher than 70°C.

HOWEVER, we recommend cooling to 40°C to ensure the best stability for the final product.   Do not freeze, store at or near room temperature.

However, Lactobacillus also produces novel antimicrobial peptides, known as bacteriocins, that are capable of providing broad spectrum antimicrobial protection. During the manufacturing process, lysozyme is added to the ferment filtrate to facilitate a controlled cell lysis to ensure the release of the antimicrobial peptides for maximized activity.

Formulation guidelines
  • Add it to products with a pH between 3 and 8
  • Performance is best at a pH below 6
  • Add it during the cooling phase of the formulation process at temperatures no higher than 70°C (158°F)
  • We recommend allowing further cool down and adding it when your formulation temperature is below 40°C (104°F) to avoid destabilization issues.

Storage and Use: Store in a cool, dry place. This product should be stored at room temperature (23 - 25°C) in a sealed container. It should not be exposed to excessive heat or cold. Do not freeze.

Storage: Protected from direct light and humidity at a temperature of 50°-77°F (10°-25°C) 

Shelf life: 12 months, properly stored, in sealed container. This product should be added to a formulation at the recommended usage rate
