Stephenson Syndet Shampoo Base Syndopour 200-MB

Soap-free, pH-balanced, and Dermatologically Tested

This new innovative product is entirely soap-free, comprised of sodium cocoyl isethionate (derived from RSPO Mass Balance Certified palm kernel oil), propylene glycol, glyceryl stearate (derived from RSPO Mass Balance Certified palm oil), water, and glycerin (derived from RSPO Mass Balance certified palm fruit and palm kernel oil).

This new addition to our product line is a Stephenson product, carrying a neutral fragrance, with a variety of uses and applications in personal health care products. The product will begin to melt at 50°C (122°F) with recommended heating temperature around 80°C (176°F). Formulators may add essential oils, colourants, or additional skin and hair care agents prior to pouring into a mold to create custom cosmetic products. It is recommended that the level of additives included does not exceed 3% of the total product formulation.

Dermatologically and clinically tested, this base is neutral in pH while still yielding high levels of foam and a luxurious lather. Soap-free cleansers are trending on the rise in recent years to avoid concerns and claims of soap stripping away natural oils produced by the human skin. Syndopour soap base does not require large scale equipment, allowing ease of production suitable for business of any size. Syndopour is a preferred way by many to create cleansing bars for a wide range of applications including shaving, shampoo, body wash, face wash, exfoliating scrub bars, and topical skin-safe detergents. Due to the presence of glycerin, natural sweating of the bars may occur.

The RSPO certification of this Syndopour product is RSPO-MB (Mass Balance), one of four certification levels offered by the RSPO which monitors the trade of sustainably certified and non-sustainably certified palm oil. The Mass Balance certification allows the overall production of both RSPO and non-RSPO certified palm oil to maintain an even balance, hence its Mass Balance designation, with administrative traceability of the input and mixing of RSPO and non-RSPO certified palm oil, but at controlled quantities.

Prepare:
Remove the Syndopour base from the packaging and cut the product into smaller pieces to aid melting. Add the prepared product to a suitable vessel which is stable on heating.(Please note this base is soft as supplied but will harden once processed).
Melt:
Melt the product in a microwave or a suitable heating device ensuring that the base melts evenly.
Stirring the product regularly helps to do this. The product should start melting above 50 °C. Recommended heating temperature should be around 80oc
Please note – When molten the base clears but will return opaque upon setting.
Create:
Once the base is molten, additives such as fragrance, colour and any additional hair care agents can be added to customise the base. Simply add the chosen additives to the molten product and mix to ensure even distribution. It is recommended that the level of additives included is up to 3 % maximum. This level would include up to 2 % fragrance. Stability testing may be required ensure compatibility.
Pour:
Pour the molten product into a mould or suitable container between 70 - 85 °C and allow to set.
Once the Syndopour base has set, remove the product from the mould or suitable container, allow time for the base to set. The bars will release more easily if it has been left for 24 hours in a cool place.
Please note – Once unmoulded, the base will continue to harden overnight.
Once hard, package as required. If the finished product is to be sliced, we recommend using a soap wire cutter.
Please note – due to the glycerin present in the base, this base can be prone to sweating.
