Mango Butter - Mango Butter is extracted from the fruit kernels of the Mango tree. This butter is solid at room temperatures but melts upon contact with skin (approximately 87 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (ca. 32 °C)).
INCI: Mangifera indica
Shelf life: 1 year
SAP value: 184
Country of Origin: Netherlands
Lotions and Creams: try 2 to 20% Body and Lip Balms: try 5 to 100% Bar Soap: try 3 to 12.5% Caution: Do melt your mango butter over a double boiler as if it is heated to quickly it becomes grainy.
Shea and mango are very high in unsaponifiable matter. If they are incorrectly heated, upon solidification they will form little fat granules or crystals that feel bumpy to the skin. These bumps will melt down when rubbed into the skin, but they can be annoying and unsatisfactory if added to a formulation that is supposed to be smooth.
To remove the graininess from your shea or mango butters simply heat the butter in a double boiler on the stove top. Gas works best as it keeps a more steady temperature than electric. Heat the butter to 170-185F. This is NOT hot enough to damage the properties of the butters. Keep the temperature steady - between 170-185F - for 10-15 minutes. The steady heat will cause the fat crystals to be obliterated. Rapid cooling may help stop the crystals from reforming. If you find that crystals have reformed upon solidification, go back and repeat these steps, paying close attention to time and temps.

The best coco oil ever
Same quality as New Directions but NDA was out of stock and I got stuck paying $115 more. Not even in the same ball park for price. Next time I will restock sooner so I don't have to get ripped off again.
Could you make a kit or recomend a recipe without baking soda! The glycerine based ones don't seem to wrk and I've only found 1 company that does it right called attitude. Anyway would be a market for it for sure✔✔
The first thing I did was make a 30/70 Laurel Berry / Olive Oil Aleppo style soap and it did not disappoint! The natural colour is a lovely light lime green and the natural scent is wonderful! Looking forward to making a 40/60 as well as a balm for my psoraisis!
Great customer service.
I buy all the products I need to make my lotions and creams. They have a great inventory at reasonable prices and the staff are very helpful.
When working in a home shop environment, there are so many situtations in which you need a small bottle of solution to be right there in your pocket. It could be soapy water, isopropyl alcohol, or anything (as long as it is compatible with the plastic). I found the sales person that put together all the items I needed to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Soap & More is a very good store with great staff!
