Sweating may occur if so let soap set out to "cure" for up to a week. Once sweating is gone, wrapping will not be necessary.

Directions: Carefully slice soap base into small 1" pieces and place in microwave safe container. Heat on low at 30-second intervals. Stir between intervals until liquid. Handle hot soap carefully as it may burn the skin. Soap can also be melted in a double boiler which is the preferred method to get an even melt.

Depending on how strong you like your scented soap to be – a general rule of thumb or guideline is roughly 1 teaspoon (or more) per pound of soap. If using essential oils or fragrance oils – the strength of the scents vary from oil to oil. Try starting with 1 teaspoon per pound of soap base and work your way up.

The total amount of additives (essential oil + clay + powder + botanical) should be in the 5% range.

Experiment with multiple additives to create unique bars of melt and pour soap.
Note: If the essential oil or fragrance oil has a colour to it – may give a slight colour or hue to the soap.

MOLD: Stir in your desired colour, & scent, and skin safe additives. Pour into a mold. We recommend not filling the mold to the top for easier release. Spritz soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Let cool until solidified

CAUTION: Melted soap is hot! For ages 15 and older

This is an opaque soap base. Do not overheat or microwave soap bases as high heat will ruin the lather and make the soap brittle. Fingerprints can be removed from soap with a little of alcohol. 1 pound (0.45 kg) yields 5 to 6 average bars. An important tip when pouring into soap molds, don't fill the mold to the very top to allow your soap to release better.
