Blueberry Oatmeal Whipped Body Butter

73% Blueberry butter

25% Soft oil. We used fractionated as it has no colour, or scent and has a long shelf life. (if you wish a softer finished product, use up to 30% soft oil and decrease the blueberry butter by this amount.

1% Colloidal oatmeal

1% Oat Oil

Our goal is to have as natural a finished product as possible without dyes, fragrances, preservatives, silicons or other chemicals to moisturize dry skin.

Directions: Melt your butter and soft oil slowly in a double boiler. As soon as it has a few bits of unmelted butter left, remove it from the heat and stir to melt the mass. We added 1% Oat Oil which imparts a silky, fast absorbing quality and the colloidal oatmeal.

Mix with your blender to incorporate some air and fluff it up, Do that for 5 to 10 minutes. It can be left for 1 minute and mixed for 2. Put it into the fridge until the sides of the bowl until it starts to harden around the edge of the bowl. Remove from the fridge and mix again, while scraping the sides back into the mixture. You will notice it starts to get a light baby blue colour as it forms soft peaks. Keep mixing for approx 5 minutes. Put back into the fridge for a few minutes, just so hard peaks form.

Package it in a glass jar for up to 12 months. It can also be kept in the fridge if the ambient temperature reaches 75C or more.

A faster way to accomplish this would be to use a cold water bath (ice) and blend. I took me 10 minutes to make an 8 oz batch.
