SMLT Sodium Methyl Lauroyl Taurate Surfactant

I love this surfactant. It gives a solid bar shampoo a very rich foam and lather. It is also gentle because it is a taurate surfactant, so you can make shampoos for those with dry hair/sensitive skin. The trick to work with it is to crash into small pieces/powder in a mortar and pestle grinder by hand or in an electric grinder. The big difference is if you use an electric grinder, you will be exposed to the airborne powder while if you carefully and slowly grind it by hand, there is no airborne powder. It crashes very easily into small pieces. Then, use 4% water plus other liquid suirfactats and melt it in a water bath. The higher heat will not melt it faster as it is all about the time it needs to melt and the right amount of water/other liquid in the beaker. Use a spatula to help squish it more in your mixture as you melt it. Overall, I love it and will definitely buy it again.
